Typical causes
A fridge moves heat out of the cabinet in a continuous loop. When one part in that loop fails, the temperature starts to climb.
Several times a day, a heater melts frost off the freezer coil. If the heater, sensor or timer fails, frost blocks the airflow to the fridge.
